The Farr 395 is a 12.0-meter fractional sloop designed by Bruce Farr and built by Carroll Marine from 2000 to 2003. It features a fin with bulb and spade rudder hull, a 3.7-meter beam, a 2.4-meter draft, and displaces 5669 kg. Aboard *Sailing Sweet Ruca*, a OneDesign 35 turbo, which shares similar design characteristics, a crew prepared for the Chicago to Mackinac race by installing a Fleet One broadband system and rigging safety lines.6:21 During the race on Lake Michigan, the crew sailed close-hauled, managing sail changes between a Code Zero and a spinnaker.8:21 When winds died near Beaver Island, the crew made a tactical decision to sail the west side of the island, improving their position from 70th to 6th overall.16:38
