The Nautitech 40 is a cruising catamaran designed by Mortain & Mavrikios, built by Nautitech Catamarans since 2003. It features a fractional sloop rig with a rotating spar, measures 12.1 meters LOA, has a 6.5-meter beam, and draws 1.2 meters. Its displacement is 7399 kg. Aboard *Epic Navigator*, a Nautitech 40 demonstrated the challenges of catamaran docking in crosswinds, where a lack of planning and communication nearly led to collisions.10:21 The review emphasized the importance of slow speeds, strategic fender deployment, and clear crew instructions.3:38 For difficult conditions, dropping an anchor off the bow before approaching a quay can provide stability, and arriving early or hiring a professional skipper can mitigate risks.14:54
