The Prout Catamarans Quasar 50 is a cutter-rigged catamaran with twin keels, designed by Prout and built by Prout Catamarans and Prout, Sons since 1980. It measures 14.9 meters LOA, with a 7.2-meter beam, 1.0-meter draft, and 9071 kg displacement. Aboard *Sailing Supernova*, a 1986 Prout Quasar 50 named *Supernova* was listed for sale after extensive refits.0:09 Its electrical system operates on 24-volt and 12-volt circuits, powered by 4,000 watts of solar panels and a 2,700 amp-hour lithium battery bank.20:19 The galley is fully electric, featuring a Seawater Pro watermaker, a microwave/air fryer, and a DC fridge-freezer.13:28 Navigation equipment includes a 16-inch Garmin chartplotter, VHF radio, and Starlink.1:09 The standing and running rigging have been replaced, and the mast has an in-mast furling mainsail.5:53 The cockpit features a custom fiberglass hardtop, a swim deck with storage and a hot/cold shower, and a wireless anchor remote.1:42 The interior has four heads, two converted to electric flush with 100-liter holding tanks.22:44 The boat includes a 10.5-foot rigid hull inflatable dinghy with a 20-horsepower Mercury outboard.2:41
