Character

Where this design lands on the numbers a shopper trusts — read straight from her own ratios.

TrailerableBeam 1.42 m — inside the 2.55 m no-permit tow width across most of Europe, and the 2.59 m US and Canadian limit. About 63 kg of hull, so roughly 650 kg on a trailer: check that against your own towing rating.Ramp-launchableAbout 63 kg of hull, with a keel that raises or a draught shallow enough to float off a trailer — she can go back on the trailer at the ramp, not only into the water.Shoal draughtDraws 0.06 m, board up where she has one — creeks, sandbars and thin anchorages most keels have to stay out of.
LivelySea-kindly

Her light displacement on a beamy beam gives 2 — a quick, lively motion that feels every wave.

Comfort ratio 2
CoastalBluewater

At 3.60 she sits above the 2.0 line — beamy for her weight, and happiest coastal.

Capsize screening 3.60
LightHeavy

47 — light for her waterline, so she is easily driven and quick to accelerate.

Displacement / length 47
EasygoingPowered-up

54.9 — a lot of sail for her weight; powered-up and eager, a real performer.

Sail area / displacement 54.9

Light and lively — happiest day-sailing and coastal-hopping in settled weather.

What the fleet has seen

The RS Feva, as the fleet has seen it

Derived from the videos the fleet has analysed of this model. ▶ marks open the moment aboard.

The Rs FEVA is a 3.6-meter fractional sloop dinghy designed by Paul Handley and built by RS Racing and RS Sailing since 2002. It has a daggerboard hull, a 1.4-meter beam, a 0.9-meter draft, and displaces 63 kg. The model is available in two versions, the RS FEVA S and the RS FEVA XL, with the XL version commonly used in competition. Its mainsail area is 5.3 m² for the S rig and 6.3 m² for the XL rig, with a 2.0 m² jib and a 6.8 m² spinnaker. Youth sailors in Norway transition from the RS FEVA class to larger racing yachts like the Half Tonner.2:05 Norwegian sailing clubs acquire RS FEVA dinghies to lower the barrier to entry for youth sailors and support league-style racing.12:15
