What the fleet has seen

The Salona 44, as the fleet has seen it

The Salona 44 is a performance cruiser designed by J&J Yacht Design and built by Salona Yachts (AD Boats Ltd.) since 2011. This fractional sloop, with a fin bulb and spade rudder, measures 13.5 meters LOA and displaces 9500 kg. Its hull features full carbon below the waterline and a PVC sandwich infusion above, earning it an Ocean A classification.2:31 A structural steel frame integrated into the hull supports the keel, mast, and interior cabinetry, allowing for airflow beneath furniture and providing a rigid foundation for keel bolts and chainplates.4:02 Aboard SVN solovelanet, the Salona 44 demonstrated good speed and seakeeping, logging 8 knots of boatspeed at 60 degrees apparent in 11–12 knots of true wind.2:50 The boat tracked well without broaching, and its deep keel kept it upright, reducing weather helm.4:44 Under engine, it made 6 knots at 2,500 rpm with minimal propeller walk.5:57 The interior, finished in light teak, offers three or four cabins, an L-shaped galley with dual sinks, a three-burner stove, and two refrigerators.3:11 The owner’s cabin in the bow includes a 1.9m by 2m double berth and an en-suite head.1:58
