What the fleet has seen

The Waarschip 1010, as the fleet has seen it

The Waarschip 1010 is a 10.1-meter fractional sloop designed by K. Kremer and built by Werf t' Waarschip since 1971. This fin-keel racing sloop has a narrow 2.5-meter beam and a 2.0-meter draft, displacing 2099 kg. Aboard *Allende los Mares*, a 1980s Dutch-built Waarschip 1010 was chosen for its low profile and open transom.11:12 The owner, a sailor who uses a wheelchair, modified the interior by leveling the floorboards to create a single living space and plans a stern ramp for dock access.12:05 He sailed his previous Waarschip 1010 for 200 days from Guadeloupe to the Azores and Ireland, and delivered his current boat from the Netherlands to Barcelona.9:35 During a transit near the Algarve, his vessel sustained rudder and tiller damage after an encounter with orcas, necessitating rescue.15:03 He emphasizes the need for at least one able-bodied crew member for safety.2:53
