What this video covers

The owners of a Cape George Cutter 36, Magic Carpet, are preparing the vessel’s interior and cockpit for finishing by organizing a large shipment of Epifanes paint and varnish.5:18 The shipment includes two-part polyurethane paint for the hull and cockpit, satin-finish paint for the interior, and two-part PP varnish extra for teak surfaces.6:56 The crew plans to use a system of building up coats with the two-part varnish before applying a final rubbed-effect varnish for a matte aesthetic.8:13

Additionally, the crew is preparing Alaska yellow cedar slabs for galley countertops.10:39 They cut the two-inch-thick slabs into six-inch-wide planks and then resawed them into three-quarter-inch-thick slices to maximize material use.18:31 This woodworking was performed with the assistance of a local boat builder, Ken, who owns the vessel Hummingbird 2.11:54 The crew is also sanding the deck head and fiberglass tabbing in the cockpit to prepare for final priming and painting.15:34

Using high-quality, two-part marine paint and varnish systems ensures long-term durability and finish quality on a boat refit.
