Aire-Flow Hypervent Mattress Underlay

9 September 2025 · 5 min · 1K views · Georgetown, Guyana

What this video covers

A 14-foot by 39-inch roll of Aire-Flow Hypervent under-mattress fabric is cut and fitted into a V-berth to reduce moisture buildup beneath the mattresses.0:09 The installer removes two large V-berth cushions, unrolls the Hypervent on the dock, and weights it with 5-pound propane tanks while marking cuts.1:11 Cushions are laid face-down on the fabric with inside edges aligned to the manufacturer's center flap, and a 7-inch border is added along the hull-side edges to maximize airflow.1:47 Cutting requires multiple passes with a razor knife to sever all fibers cleanly.2:12 The two fabric pieces are joined at the center seam with supplied tape.3:08 Final trimming removes fabric from the berth entryway to prevent skin abrasion, while the hull-side edges are left to run up the first plank width — a compromise after a full 4-inch hull overlap caused the tight-fitting mattresses to slant inward.4:14 The finished installation sits flat under both mattresses with fabric running slightly up the hull sides to promote airflow and prevent condensation.4:21
