What this video covers

Johan fabricates custom radius trim for a 52-foot self-built sailboat by laminating thin wood veneers over a mould.▶ 0:17 To achieve a 90-degree corner with a 15-millimetre radius, he stacks 0.8-millimetre veneers with epoxy, using a mould designed with an 88-degree angle to compensate for material spring-back.▶ 3:24 He avoids thicker 1.5-millimetre veneers for tight radii, as they proved prone to cracking during the clamping process.▶ 14:20 After curing, he trims the laminated pieces on a bandsaw and notches them to fit the closet structure.▶ 16:43 Beyond the trim, the interior build includes installing ventilation holes in cabinet faces and replacing traditional fixed shelves with pull-out mesh baskets to improve airflow and prevent dampness against the hull.▶ 21:36 The project also incorporates integrated LED strip lighting within the lockers and along the bed headboard.▶ 23:29 These detailed interior finishes prioritise safety by eliminating sharp corners and maximising storage efficiency.
