Interior work includes six-coat varnish on the chart table and doors, new countertops, and a full lighting installation. Each structural element — beams, plywood supports, floors — is checked for square before fastening. The rebuild proceeds in a shore-side apartment base, with the couple packing out and moving aboard only when the boat is ready to splash. The central lesson of the project: rot in a small wooden boat rarely stops where it first appears, and a realistic rebuild budget must account for cascading structural failures well beyond the visible damage.
