What this video covers

The crew of the catamaran Mistertong performs a complete refit of Loulou’s cabin, involving extensive sanding, structural repairs, and painting.0:07 The project requires rounding off edges, filling imperfections, and applying a primer coat to walls, ceilings, and a newly installed shelf. To ensure proper adhesion, the team uses eccentric sanders to prepare surfaces before applying a primer and subsequent white and grey topcoats. The work schedule spans several days, with the crew coordinating tasks to meet a deadline for reassembling the cabin.0:29 Beyond the cabin, the crew addresses minor maintenance in the engine bay and experiments with painting sections of the galley. The project highlights the efficiency of using 2.5-liter paint cans for multiple interior areas, including the stairs and companionway. While the refit progresses, the crew manages daily life at anchor, including laundry logistics and the challenges of operating the dinghy. The cabin renovation demonstrates that thorough surface preparation and finishing work significantly extend project timelines but result in a cleaner, more durable interior finish.
