The Hunter Marine 37 is a cutter-rigged cruising monohull designed by John E. Cherubini, built by Hunter Marine from 1978 until the company's acquisition by Marlow Hunter, LLC. It has an LOA of 11.3 meters, a beam of 3.6 meters, a draft of 1.6 meters, and displaces 8073 kg.13:05 Hunter Marine prioritized interior volume and ease of handling, incorporating features like stainless steel cockpit arches and, in later models, the B&R rig. Aboard *Sailing Good, Bad, and Ugly*, a 1979 Hunter Marine 37 with a new engine and recent sails, the crew installed a Raymarine ST4000 autopilot, encountering issues with wheel spoke thickness and a degraded drive unit belt.2:23 During Tropical Storm Laura, their Hunter 37C withstood 30-to-50-knot gusts in Puerto Rico, though a solar panel mount failed and the bimini was damaged. *Sailing Miss Lone Star* experienced a 70-knot squall in the Abacos aboard a 1996 Hunter 37, where a dragging anchor from another boat pulled their mooring block loose; the crew cut lines and reset anchors, losing a stanchion base and bending their primary anchor.7:19 This crew also performed a field repair on a corroded Yanmar exhaust manifold using JB Weld.4:06
