The O'day 22 is a 6.6-meter fractional sloop designed by C. Raymond Hunt and built by O'Day Corp. between 1972 and 1983, with over 3,000 units produced. It features a keel/centerboard hull, a 2.2-meter beam, a 1.3-meter draft, and displaces 990 kg. After 1980, the model adopted a fractional rig and was available with either a keel/centerboard or a fixed keel. Lady K Sailing describes the O'day 22 as a lightweight, agile daysailer with a spacious cockpit, suitable for those prioritizing simplicity and ease of operation.7:42 It is considered an affordable, proven model for new sailors, often found through local listings.
