The RM Yachts 890 is a 8.9-meter fractional sloop designed by Marc Lombard and built by RM-Fora Marine since 2013, featuring a wood-epoxy hull, fin keel with bulb, and dual rudders. Aboard *Jenna*, a 2019 RM890+, the square-top mainsail and running backstays require specific handling, and the twin exposed rudders necessitate caution in debris-filled waters.3:37 The boat's open transom does not cause water ingress while sailing, and its interior includes a macerator toilet, fridge, and gimbaled stove.5:17 During a 500-mile passage from La Rochelle to Dingle, the boat encountered near-gale winds and strong tidal streams, requiring early reefing of the square-top sail in one-and-a-half-meter chop to prevent being overpowered.17:05 Upgrades on *Jenna* include an Eberspacher heater, a Raycor fuel filter, a cockpit spray hood, and Raymarine Axiom 7 and 9 displays for navigation and AIS tracking.7:54 A refit included installing an NKE gyropilot system, reinforcing the forestay attachment with a turnbuckle, and upgrading the VHF antenna cable to RG-8X coax.11:37
