The Swan 80 is a 24.9-meter masthead sloop designed by German Frers and built by Nautor between 1999 and 2004.10:21 It features a fin keel with a bulb and spade rudder, an epoxy hull with carbon reinforcements, and displaces 36,699 kg. Aboard The Mariner, a Swan 80 was prepared for a solo transatlantic voyage and the Newport Bermuda Race, with the crew addressing recent leaks in the water and grey tank systems and installing a new deck light for night trimming.11:51 This vessel includes a crash box in the bow for impact absorption.3:44 For solo marina maneuvering, a four-to-one line harness was used.11:03 The Swan 80 features an aft-facing master bed designed to enhance comfort during pitching.11:40
