What the fleet has seen

The X Yachts X-50, as the fleet has seen it

Derived from the videos the fleet has analysed of this model. ▶ marks open the moment aboard.

The X Yachts X-50 is a 15.2-meter fractional sloop designed by Niels Jeppesen and built by X Yachts between 2004 and 2011. It features a fin with bulb and spade rudder hull, a 3.0-meter draft, and displaces 12,399 kg.14:22 Aboard *Allende los Mares*, the crew of the XC50 *Carolina* navigated 5-meter seas and 40-knot winds, relying on manual steering when the autopilot struggled in following seas.10:57 They maintain a detailed logbook for offshore passages, recording watch schedules, mileage, heading, sail configuration, barometric pressure, and engine performance, and use B&G electronics alongside paper charts and a sextant.27:37 The X-Yachts X4.9 Mark II Electric, a later model, incorporates improved cockpit ergonomics and a redesigned stern, featuring two motors and two servo props for regenerative charging and precise harbor maneuvering.1:20
