What this video covers
The crew of the 10-year rebuild project Brupeg, a former fishing trawler, completes the interior fit-out of a forward cabin by installing plywood wall panels, insulation, and structural framing. To prevent condensation and mould, the team installs standoff panels to create an air gap between the hull and the interior walls, sealing the assembly with epoxy.4:25 They use 4mm plywood for the bulkheads, cutting 45-degree angles at joints to minimise gaps before applying fairing compound to create a smooth, sealed surface.2:37 For insulation, the crew replaces polystyrene with flexible fibreglass batting, which proves faster to install and allows for a double-layer application.15:22 The cabin ventilation system utilises four redundant computer fans, a configuration the crew reports has remained reliable for nine years.20:38 After filling the vessel’s 5,300-litre potable water tank and completing the cabin walls, the crew prepares to depart for Magnetic Island to continue the build.22:11
