The C&C Yachts 30-1 (1-506) is a masthead sloop designed by C&C and built by C&C Yachts from 1973 to 1985, making it the longest-produced C&C model. It measures 9.1 meters LOA, with a 3.0-meter beam, 1.5-meter draft, and 3628 kg displacement. Early models featured a swept-back, shark fin keel/rudder configuration, which was updated in 1976 to a higher aspect spade rudder. The boom was raised a foot in 1978. Power options included the Universal Atomic 4 gas engine, a QM15 Yanmar Diesel, and later a Yanmar 2GM engine. Aboard *American Sailing*, Randy Stafford races his 1972 C&C 30 Mark 1 on the Chatfield Reservoir, using an asymmetrical spinnaker on a top-down furler.3:34 Stafford experienced a fouled spinnaker furling maneuver in 20-knot winds during a race, which he attributed to an incorrect sail-handling sequence.14:11
