What the fleet has seen

The Alden 32 Motor Sailer, as the fleet has seen it

Derived from the videos the fleet has analysed of this model. ▶ marks open the moment aboard.

The Alden 32 MOTOR SAILER, designed by John G. Alden, Co. and built by Cheoy Lee Shipyard Ltd. between 1967 and 1973, is a 9.6-meter masthead sloop or ketch with a long keel. Originally known as the WINSOME CLASS, this motor sailer displaces 6032 kg and has a draft of 1.4 meters. Aboard *keeldragger*, a 1969 Alden 32 named *Lorraine* owned by Captain Ron, the pilot house with an interior helm and panoramic Simrad chartplotter is a defining feature, though the elevated bow creates a blind spot for close-in objects.10:26 The boat carries a three-burner propane galley, a V-berth, a forward head with a hand shower, and a Village Marine watermaker.7:49 Its Westerbeke 40-hp engine runs smoothly at 2,000 RPM, achieving 5.5–5.6 knots, while 2,200 RPM introduces vibration.12:04 Under sail with the main only in light air, *Lorraine* makes four to five knots.16:55 Aboard *Sailing Solé*, an Alden 32 MOTOR SAILER purchased for under $10,000 featured a watermaker and extensive electrical upgrades.21:13
