The Helia 44 is a 13.3-meter catamaran, designed by Berret-Racoupeau and built by Fountaine-Pajot from 2012 to 2018, featuring a twin keel hull and a fractional sloop rig with a rotating spar. It displaces 10,800 kg and has a 7.4-meter beam and 1.1-meter draft. WEsail upgraded to a Helia 44, noting its increased storage and living space compared to their previous 41-foot Lipari, and equipped it with a 1400-watt solar array and a 750-amp-hour battery bank to power three refrigerators, a washing machine, and a water maker.7:49 The Helia 44 is available in Maestro and Quatuor layouts, with optional twin 55 HP Volvo engines.9:29 Aboard WEsail, the forward storage lockers house a generator, dive gear, and the anchor locker.12:51 Sail Life performed extensive maintenance on a Helia 44 in Charleston, South Carolina, including applying Interprotect 2000 primer and Trilux 33 antifouling paint to the sail drives and keels, and installing Flexofold propellers.0:35
