The Antares Yachts 44 is a 13.4-meter fractional sloop catamaran with a twin keel hull, designed by Ted Clements and built by PDQ and Antares Yachts since 2003. It displaces 10,205 kg with a 1.2-meter draft and a 6.6-meter beam. The model evolved from the PDQ ANTARES 42, with newer GT and Hybrid variants built in Argentina. Aboard *Sail Life*, a 44-foot catamaran undergoes a refit, including hull painting, interior build-out, and steering system overhaul.watch The crew applies Perfection Pro paint to the hull, constructing a temporary tent to manage temperature and humidity for a spray-like finish.14:49 They install temporary plywood flooring and prepare engine compartments with TotalBoat TotalBilge paint, designing removable battery shelves for Optima Red Top batteries.17:23 The existing Lewmar rack-and-pinion steering system is being evaluated for replacement with a Jefa system due to high repair costs.5:51 The refit also involves designing custom stainless steel backing plates for chain stoppers using Fusion 360 CAD software.11:59
