The Hunter Yachts 29.5 is a masthead sloop designed by Rob Mazza and the Hunter Design Team, built by Hunter Yachts and Hunter Marine from 1994 to the present. It measures 9.0 m LOA, with a 3.2 m beam, 1.2 m draft, and displaces 3401 kg. The Hunter 29.5, also known as the Moorings 295 variant, features a fin with spade rudder hull. Practical Sailor identified the Hunter 29.5 as a suitable production cruiser from the late 1980s or early 1990s for completing the 6,000-mile Great Loop, noting its longer waterline for efficient motoring and deck-stepped mast for easier transit through locks and bridges.7:27
