The Island SPIRIT 525 is a 15.8-meter fractional sloop catamaran, designed by Group Island Spirit and built by Island Spirit Catamarans since 2022. It features a twin keel hull, an 8.2-meter beam, a 1.5-meter draft, and displaces 16,500 kg. The model is available with electric propulsion, offering a 65kW (87 hp) rated power system or optional 2x 80 hp motors, and can be configured with three, four, five, or six cabins. Aboard *Sailing Doodles*, the crew tested the Island SPIRIT 525's performance under sail and electric propulsion, achieving speeds of six to seven knots in 13 knots of wind while adjusting the in-mast furling mainsail and jib halyard tension.10:42 The electric motor system allows for silent operation and powers onboard systems without a diesel generator.8:41 The crew practiced docking using differential power from the electric motors, and technicians finalized the C-Zone system programming to enable air conditioning.14:46 The vessel is slated for a future circumnavigation and appearances at the Miami and Annapolis Boat Shows.19:16
