The Xquisite Yachts X5 PLUS is a 16.2-meter fractional sloop catamaran, designed by Rudolf Jonker and built by Phoenix Marine in Cape Town, South Africa, since 2021.0:43 It replaced the X5 model and features a twin keel hull, an 8.0-meter beam, a 1.4-meter draft, and a displacement of 16,000 kg. Phoenix Catamarans constructs the X5e Plus, a diesel-electric hybrid variant, with 15-kilowatt electric motors capable of trail-generating power and a high-output alternator.55:49 Construction uses a hybrid hand-layup and infusion process, with CNC machining shaping plugs and molds from digital files.17:20 The 60-footer carries a 150-square-meter mainsail that furls into the boom, and a full carbon-fiber boom.33:34 Aboard Gone with the Wynns, sea trials of the X5 and X5e Plus showed stable performance, reaching 8–9 knots in 11–12 knots of true wind.14:42 The design incorporates deep-water swim ladders and integrated rain-capture water systems.20:07 Xquisite Catamarans provides a dedicated service and support facility in the Bahamas, offering a private marina, owner housing, and on-site technicians.1:20
