What the fleet has seen

The Lagoon 40, as the fleet has seen it

Derived from the videos the fleet has analysed of this model. ▶ marks open the moment aboard.

The Lagoon 40 is a fractional sloop catamaran, built by Lagoon from 2017 to the present, with an LOA of 11.7 meters and a displacement of 10,884 kg. Designed by VPLP Design, Van Peteghem, and Lauriot-Prevost, with exterior styling by Patrick Le Quement and interiors by Nauta Design, it replaced the Lagoon 39 and 400 models. Aboard *sailing vessel reality*, a Lagoon 40 transited from St. Martin to Martinique, encountering difficult anchoring in Portsmouth Harbour, Dominica, and relying on one engine due to low fuel in the other tank.16:42 Sam Holmes, touring a Lagoon 40 in Tortola, noted its limited storage, small forepeak cabin, and external engine hatch design. *45 Degrees Sailing* found the Lagoon 40's crew cabin too small for a skipper, lacking standing room, bathroom access, and air conditioning, leading one skipper to sleep in a hammock.3:01 The Lagoon 38, a later VPLP design, features a flared hull that increases interior volume in the forward cabins compared to the Lagoon 40.13:39
