The Lagoon 400 is a 12.0 m fractional sloop catamaran built by Lagoon from 2009 to 2012, designed by Van Petheghem, Lauriot-Prevost, and Van Peteghem. It has a beam of 7.2 m, a draft of 1.2 m, and a displacement of 10,219 kg.0:34 Aboard *navegandoporelglobo*, a 2011 model prepared for a transatlantic crossing from Ibiza to Panama, offers 10 berths. *Sailing Doodles* chartered a Lagoon 400 in Thailand, noting its 560 watts of solar power, B&G electronics, and an engine-driven watermaker.4:33 The crew motored between islands in light winds, using the genoa for an extra half-knot of speed.9:53 They observed a manual dinghy davit winch and a significant tidal range of two to three meters in Bang Bao bay.4:38 Alexandros Retsinas, reviewing the boat, demonstrated Mediterranean mooring techniques, advising against using engines to force the stern into place due to propeller proximity to mooring lines; instead, he recommended using the anchor and windlass to manage position in crosswinds.8:37
