The Linjett 40 is a 12.3-meter fractional sloop designed by Mats Gustafsson and built by Rosattra Boatyard (Linjett Boats) from 2002 to 2012. It features a fin keel with a spade rudder and displaces 7199 kg. The Linjett 36, a related model, earned Norway's "Sailboat of the Year" award for its high-quality construction and performance, designed for single-handed or small-crew management.0:05 Its hull is optimized for sailing efficiency, and the deck includes a bowsprit with an integrated ladder and space for an electric bow thruster, facilitating access to natural harbors.10:31 The interior of the Linjett 36 offers a two-cabin layout, a large head with a shower, and significant storage in the forward cabin, with 1.90 m headroom in the saloon.19:08 Aboard SEILmagasinet, the Linjett 36 sailed at 6–7 knots upwind in 6 m/s winds with a 105% jib, reaching 8.5 knots downwind with a gennaker.12:03 The helm is direct and balanced, providing weather-helm warning before a broach.12:03 The boat uses Victron electrical systems and B&G electronics, powered by a 40 hp Yanmar engine that provides a cruising speed of 7.5 knots.19:56 The narrow cockpit is noted as a trade-off for security in heavy weather.21:27
