What the fleet has seen

The Beneteau Oceanis 430, as the fleet has seen it

Derived from the videos the fleet has analysed of this model. ▶ marks open the moment aboard.

The Beneteau Oceanis 430 is a 13.0-meter masthead sloop designed by Philippe Briand and built by Beneteau from 1986 to 1992, featuring a fin keel with a spade rudder and displacing 8981 kg. A wing keel option with a shallower draft of 1.53 meters and a tall rig option were also available. The Moorings 432 charter boat is based on this design. *Practical Sailor* analysis of ARC entry data shows the Beneteau Oceanis 43 is a frequent choice for ocean passages in the 40-foot category. Aboard *Sailing Zephyr*, the crew installed a custom fold-down swim platform on their Beneteau Oceanis 43 *Zephyr*, de-coring the Nida plastic core from the transom and backfilling with thickened polyester resin to create solid mounting points for hardware.1:01 They prepared the surface with fairing compound, sanded it, and applied a two-part epoxy primer followed by Beneteau Traffic White paint.10:54 The same crew recommissioned their Beneteau Oceanis 430 after it sat in a New Bern, North Carolina, boatyard for three years, pressure washing the decks and troubleshooting engine issues, including a diesel spill and a missing starter motor.6:25
