The Beneteau Oceanis 45 is a fractional sloop sailboat designed by Finot-Conq and Nauta Design, built by Beneteau from 2013 to the present. It has a fin with bulb and spade rudder hull, measures 13.8 meters LOA, 4.5 meters beam, 2.2 meters draft, and displaces 9547 kg. A 2018 model, docked in Toronto, Ontario, featured 900 watts of solar panels, 1,300 amp-hours of lithium-ion batteries, and a 3,000-volt-amp Victron inverter for long-distance cruising. This vessel, powered by a 57-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine with 2,600 hours, includes a bow thruster, three cabins, and three heads, carrying 200 gallons of water and 100 gallons of fuel. Its owner reported an average cruising speed of six to eight knots, with a peak of 13 knots recorded on the B&G navigation system during squalls. The boat has a 5-foot, 8-inch keel and external chain plates.
