LivelySea-kindly

Her light displacement on a narrow beam gives 34 — a sea-kindly motion in a seaway.

Comfort ratio 34
CoastalBluewater

1.84 — just under the 2.0 offshore line; her beam is modest for her weight.

Capsize screening 1.84
LightHeavy

157 — light for her waterline, so she is easily driven and quick to accelerate.

Displacement / length 157
EasygoingPowered-up

21.5 — plenty of sail for her weight; lively and quick to respond.

Sail area / displacement 21.5
TenderStiff

34% of her weight is ballast — on the tender side; she'll heel readily and want a reef sooner.

Ballast 34%

Light and lively — happiest day-sailing and coastal-hopping in settled weather.

What the fleet has seen

The Tayana 64, as the fleet has seen it

Derived from the videos the fleet has analysed of this model. ▶ marks open the moment aboard.

The Tayana 64 is a Robert Ladd-designed cutter-rigged sailboat built by Ta Yang Yacht Building Co. in Taiwan since 2003. With an LOA of 19.4 meters, a beam of 5.5 meters, and a displacement of 27,713 kg, it features a fin keel with a rudder on a skeg and a draft of 2.4 meters. A shoal draft variant is also available, reducing the draft to 2.08 meters. The Tayana 64 is a larger evolution of the Tayana 44, a model whose vulnerability to propulsion system failure was demonstrated when a fouled propeller on a Tayana 44 led to its wreck on a reef in the Tuamotu Islands.11:27
