The Xquisite Yachts X5 is a 15.4-meter fractional sloop catamaran designed by Rudolf Jonker and built by Phoenix Marine in Cape Town, South Africa, from 2015 to 2020. It is a redesigned Dean 5000, featuring a twin keel hull and displacing 17,999 kg.7:36 The X5 has a main sail area of 100 m², a jib of 42 m², and a reacher of 90 m². Phoenix Marine constructs the X5 using a hybrid hand-layup and infusion process, with CNC machining shaping plugs and molds.17:46 The X5 was replaced by the X5 Plus in 2021.9:22 Xquisite Catamarans operates a service and support facility in the Bahamas, providing a private marina, housing for owners, and residential quarters for technicians.1:20 During sea trials, the X5 and X5e Plus achieved speeds of 8–9 knots in 11–12 knots of true wind.14:42 The design incorporates deep-water swim ladders and integrated rain-capture water systems.33:53
