The Tayana VANCOUVER 42 is a Robert B. Harris-designed cutter-rigged sailboat built by Tayana (Ta Yang Yacht Building Co. Ltd.) from 1979 to the present, offered in both aft and center cockpit configurations. With an LOA of 12.7 meters, a beam of 3.8 meters, a draft of 1.8 meters, and a displacement of 13,225 kg, it features a fin keel with a rudder on a skeg. Aboard *Millennial Falcon*, the crew sailed from Reykjavik to Stornoway, encountering 3-meter seas and 20-26 knot winds that caused sail stitching to fail, requiring a Dacron repair.13:39 The *Millennial Falcon* also experienced 49-knot gusts while anchored in a fjord, which caused the boat to drag anchor, flipped the deck-stowed dinghy, and tore loose three solar panels.12:38 The crew later performed an outboard motor teardown and repair after it was submerged.19:31 In Grenada, the crew used a bridle to reorient the boat and mitigate heavy rolling from a beam swell, finding it a reliable solution for adjusting heading.5:16 They also performed maintenance, including rebedding a leaky window and removing rust from aluminum toe rails.16:52 The crew is redesigning the saloon to accommodate a diesel heater, replacing swivel chairs with a custom couch featuring integrated storage.0:08
