The Stevens 47 is a Sparkman & Stephens-designed cutter, built by Queen Long and Hylas Yachts USA from 1981 to 1986, with a fin keel and rudder on skeg.11:05 This 14.3-meter (47-foot) sailboat has a 4.3-meter beam, 1.8-meter draft, and displaces 14,514 kg. It was designed as S&S design #2390 and later marketed as the Hylas 47, also spawning an extended Stevens 50 variant.11:05 Various engines, including Westerbeke, Universal, Perkins, and Yanmar, were installed during its production run. *Be The Captain* identifies the Stevens 47 as a heavy-displacement, offshore-capable, and storm-worthy bluewater sailboat, suitable for ocean passages.2:29
