Aboard *Uhuru*, a 62-foot Oyster, the crew completed a 1,200-mile passage from Papua New Guinea to Indonesia, motoring for 95% of the trip due to light winds, maintaining speeds of six to seven knots.10:38 This passage highlighted the operational differences between a small owner-operated vessel and a fully crewed, modern 62-foot yacht equipped with a dive compressor and advanced navigational systems. *Uhuru* transited to the Raja Ampat archipelago, requiring significant diesel reserves from its 18,000-liter tank capacity.4:24 The 2002 Oyster 62 *Ixion* features a Hood Stowaway three-spreader mast with rigging overhauled in 2021, a 17.5kW genset, and a navigation suite updated in 2021 with Raymarine MFD units.10:50 The 2002 Oyster 62 *Dorado of Beaulieu* features a hydraulic in-mast furling system and a cockpit-led sail control layout for shorthanded sailing, with a Perkins Sabre M225 Ti engine overhauled in 2025.19:59
