What the fleet has seen

The Prout Ltd. Snowgoose 37 Elite, as the fleet has seen it

Derived from the videos the fleet has analysed of this model. ▶ marks open the moment aboard.

The Prout Ltd. Snowgoose 37 Elite is a cutter-rigged catamaran with twin keels, designed by Prout and built by Prout Ltd. from 1986 to the present. It is an updated version of the Snowgoose 37, featuring more beam and hull shape changes, with over 500 units built across all Snowgoose 37 iterations. Aboard *The Sailing Brothers*, a Snowgoose 37 Elite completed a 47-mile passage in the Bahamas in 18-to-25-knot winds, maintaining 4 to 6.5 knots.3:20 The crew undertook a circumnavigation of Britain and later embarked on a circumnavigation from Australia towards Asia, planning to cross the Indian Ocean in 2027.2:41 They funded refit projects, including new tri-radial sails and a 20-kilogram Rocna Mark 2 anchor, through a GoFundMe campaign.1:32 The crew performed DIY osmosis repairs on rudders and keels in Fiji, addressing saturated foam cores and water ingress with epoxy and fiberglass.3:29 During a passage from French Polynesia to Australia, the mainsail showed rot, and the engine’s alternator belt snapped, requiring replacement.0:41 The vessel used a wind vane for steering during a 1,300-mile passage from French Polynesia to Tonga, encountering 35-knot gales and light winds.5:01 On a 600-mile passage from Samoa to Fiji, the crew prioritized a longer, safer route to avoid a lee shore and managed a leaking engine drive leg upon arrival.0:29
