The Leopard 42 / MOORINGS 4200 (2020) is a 12.7-meter fractional sloop catamaran designed by Simonis-Voogd and built by Robertson and Caine, with a twin keel hull and a displacement of 12,467 kg. It has a beam of 7.0 meters and a draft of 1.4 meters. The model offers both standard and square-top mainsail options, with a standard mainsail area of 66.6 square meters and a square-top area of 70.1 square meters. Aboard Adventureman Dan, a 2002 Leopard 42 anchored in the Bahamas featured a 55-lb anchor with 250 feet of 5/16-inch galvanized chain, a Mantus bridle, and an electric windlass.0:15 This boat carried 200 gallons of fresh water and a watermaker producing 40 gallons per hour.2:04 Its hard bimini, a non-stock modification, supported 1,100 watts of solar power and a wind generator, charging a 1,380 amp-hour house bank managed by a Victron inverter.12:56 Twin 40-hp Yanmar engines provided 80 hp total, enabling zero-radius turns without a bow thruster. The dinghy was a 12-foot rigid-hull inflatable with a Yamaha Enduro 30-hp two-stroke.30:36 The owners converted one forward head into a laundry room and an aft cabin into a workshop. The galley included a non-gimbaling stove and a front-opening fridge, and the Jabsco head used fresh water to prevent odors.
